  • Day 1: Hanoi – Van Long – Hoa Lu – Trang An

We will transfer for 2 hours to Dich Long Bridge in Ninh Binh, where we will pick up our bicycles and begin our ride along the dyke of Van Long Nature Reserve. Enjoy your Vietnam cycling through the picturesque countryside, characterized by expansive rice paddies and a stunning karst limestone backdrop. Along the way, we will visit Hoa Lu Cave, where we can leave our luggage at the hotel.

Our leisurely ride will take us through the beautiful landscape to Kenh Ga Hotspring and Hoa Lu, the first capital of Vietnam dating back to the 9th century. We will explore the temples of Kings Dinh and Le and ascend several hundred steps to the top of a mountain that offers breathtaking views of the “Halong Bay on the rice fields.” Afterward, we’ll continue our journey with another 12 kilometers of cycling through the area, surrounded by towering limestone karsts along scenic back roads.

Following this Vietnam bike ride, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting Trang An, a newly designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, we will board rowboats for a 3 to 3.5-hour excursion through caves and alongside charming villages along the river system of the Red River Delta. The area is adorned with lush green rice paddies during the growing season, and the dramatic limestone karsts provide ample opportunities for photography. We will then transfer to our hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Day 2: Ninh Binh – Tam Coc – Bich Dong – Cuc Phuong

After breakfast, we will cycle 7 km to Tam Coc, where we will take a sampan cruise along the river through rice paddies to the sacred Tam Coc Caves. Towering limestone karsts rise dramatically from the green rice fields, giving this area its nickname, “Halong on Land.” We will stop at Hang Mua (Dancing Cave) and enjoy the climb of over 500 steps to the summit. The panoramic views from the top of the mountain reveal the breathtaking landscapes of the Tam Coc rivers, canals, and mountains.

Next, we will continue our cycling journey along scenic routes to Cuc Phuong National Park, stopping along the way to visit the Ninh Van stone carving village. We will spend the night at a hotel within Cuc Phuong National Park.

  • Day 3: Cuc Phuong – Mai Chau

After breakfast, we will take a short shuttle to Vu Ban and then embark on a scenic 35 km back-road cycling adventure along gentle hills to Muong Khen. This ride will follow the Cai River and pass through authentic villages of the Thai and Muong hill tribes. Our cycling Vietnam will conclude in Muong Khen, after which we will board a bus to transfer to Mai Chau, where we will spend the night.

  • Day 4: Mai Chau – Hanoi

Following breakfast, we will enjoy a morning cycle to the authentic villages of Tong Dau, Na Tang, and Cha Long, areas that are rarely visited by tourists. Our route will include a mix of well-maintained single-track paths and undulating rough jeep trails, providing stunning views as we pass through various villages and rice paddies. We will take time to walk around the villages and interact with the friendly Thai ethnic people. Afterward, we will board a bus for our return journey to Hanoi, concluding our Vietnam Cycling Tour 4 Days
