At 15:30, we hop back on our bikes, ready to explore further. Along the way, we come across a charming village, where locals engage in the ancient art of pop rice making. Mesmerized by the nimble hands of the craftsmen, we marvel at the intricate weaving of dry coconut leaves into beautiful roofs.
As the evening approaches, we arrive at the breathtaking Coco Riverside Lodge. Nestled by the tranquil riverside, this haven of relaxation embraces us with its warm hospitality. Day 2: Coco Riverside Lodge – Tra Vinh – Coco Riverside Lodge (B, L, D/Cycling 35 – 45 km)
With the sunrise casting its golden hues upon us, we wake up refreshed and excited for another day of exploration. After a hearty breakfast, we set off on our bikes, ready to uncover the hidden gems of Tra Vinh.
The rhythmic sound of our pedaling guides us through picturesque landscapes, revealing the true beauty of Vietnam. The vibrant green rice paddies stretch as far as the eye can see, creating a mesmerizing panorama. We pass through charming villages, exchanging smiles and waves with friendly locals along the way.
As we reach Cau Ke town, hunger beckons, and we sit down to a delightful lunch. With our appetites satisfied, we embark on a journey through history and culture. We visit the magnificent Pagoda of Angkorajaborey, its ancient architecture whispering tales of the past. The Khmer Museum exposes us to the rich heritage of the region, while Ba Om Pond invites us to marvel at its tranquility.
Returning to our sanctuary, Coco Riverside Lodge, we feel a sense of familiarity and comfort wash over us. The inviting pool awaits our arrival, offering a refreshing respite from the day’s adventures. As the sun sets, casting a warm glow over the riverside, we gather for dinner at the lodge, savoring each bite and reminiscing about the highlights of the day.
Day 3: Coco Riverside Lodge – Saigon
Today, we savor a leisurely breakfast while reflecting on the memories we have made. Excitement fills the air as we prepare for a morning boat trip, a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the vibrant village life.
The village market comes alive, bustling with energy as locals trade their goods. The colorful displays stimulate our senses, offering a glimpse into the daily lives of the villagers. A visit to the ethereal Cao Dai Temple leaves us in awe of its architectural grandeur and the spiritual devotion it represents.
Before bidding farewell to this enchanting oasis, we have the opportunity to witness the art of coconut fiber making, a testament to the resourcefulness and ingenuity of the local craftsmen.
