1️⃣ Cycling Mekong Delta 01 day
This is an Exciting & challenging adventure for those who love cycling and want to explore the beauty of the Mekong Delta for the cycling Mekong Delta 2024:
Morning:
- 7:00 AM: Departure from Ho Chi Minh City by bus or van to My Tho City, Tien Giang Province
- 9:00 AM: Arrive in My Tho City, start cycling from My Tho to Ben Tre. On the way, you will cross over the Mekong River by ferry boat and ride along small village roads surrounded by coconut trees, rice fields, and fruit gardens.
- 10:30 AM: Visit a coconut processing workshop and taste some delicious coconut candies.
- 11:30 AM: Continue cycling to Ben Tre City, stopping at a local market to explore the daily life of the locals and take a short break for refreshments.
Afternoon:
- 1:00 PM: Board a boat and cruise along the Ben Tre River – one of the tributaries of the Mekong River. Enjoy the peaceful scenery and villages, and observe the local people’s daily activities on the riverbanks.
- 2:00 PM: Arrive at a local fruit garden, where you can taste various kinds of tropical fruits while listening to traditional southern music performed by local people.
- 3:00 PM: Return to Ben Tre City by boat, and then cycle back to My Tho along a different route.
- 5:00 PM: Arrive in My Tho City and take a bus or van back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 7:00 PM.
2️⃣ Cycling trip in Mekong Delta for 2 days
2.1/ Day 1: Saigon – My Tho – Ben Tre/Vinh Long (L, D/Cycling 50 km+)
- Start early in the morning and head to My Tho city, which is about 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City.
- Once there, rent bicycles or join a cycling tour and explore the city, stopping at attractions such as Vinh Trang Pagoda, fruit orchards and honey bee farms.
- Continue cycling to Ben Tre city, which is about 20 km further south. Enjoy the scenic views of the Mekong river and the rice paddy fields along the way.
- In Ben Tre, visit local markets and sample some exotic fruits such as durian, rambutan and jackfruit. Take a boat ride to visit coconut candy factories, rice paper workshops and observe the local way of life.
- Overnight in a homestay/Lodge in Ben Tre/Vinh Long of Coco Lodge.
2.2/ Day 2: Ben Tre – Saigon (B, L/Cycling 45 km+)
- Wake up early and start your day with a boat ride to visit the colorful floating markets, where farmers gather to sell and exchange goods.
- Cycle to nearby villages, visit pottery workshops and rice noodle factories. Learn about traditional ways of making handicrafts and staple food of the region.
- Return to Ben Tre for lunch, and then cycle back to My Tho city. Take some time to explore the town and try some local food specialties.
- Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon.
3️⃣ Cycling trip in Mekong Delta for 3 days
3.1/ Day 1: Saigon – My Tho – Ben Tre/Vinh Long (L, D/Cycling 50 km+)
Shuttle from Saigon to Ben Tre where we fit our bikes and start our exploration of the second biggest dragon fruits in Vietnam. The highlights of the biking routes are friendly farmers, through a village known for Mo Cay with the Dong Khoi Movement Stop and the splendid pagoda, gentle paths. On arrival the dock, take a private boat to the Mekong Riverside restaurant for lunch. Then, hop on a bike to continue cycling onto the Quê Dừa (Coconut Homeland) in which you will learn more about how locals make the best use of coconut into a variety of products. Afterwards, we ride under a shady path to Ben Tre and onto Co Chien (if time permits). Overnight in Tra Vinh Khmer Town.
3.2/ Day 2: Vinh Long to Tra Vinh and overnight in Can Tho (B, L/Cycling 65 km+)
Tra Vinh is small town and it is not touristy destination for tourists traveling by bus. So it is really quiet at night. After 8:30 pm everything is seem to be closed and almost sleep. Tra Vinh province is considered the homeland to Khmer and there are numerous Khmer temples in the province. A full day cycling of today is a chance you are not only learning cultures but also cycling on deeply to traditional villages of Khmer, stop and visit some thatch houses, experience the ways of living and visit some colorful temples on our way cycling to through Tieu Can to Cau Ke. After we have lunch in town, a fantastic bicycling begins after just half an hour transfer by van/bus to Vinh Xuan. We continue explore beautiful countryside villages by cycling along canals, rivers fruit orchards and through rice paddy fields. We end up cycle and get on van/bus to Can Tho to check in hotel.
3.3/ Day 3: Can Tho – Saigon (B, L/Cycling 45 km+)
Embark a motorized boat trip to CaiRang Floating Market, a bustling one on the river of CanTho. Explore numerous rural canals before getting back on our steel-horse (bicycle) from DongThanh all the way to TamBinh. Your lunch will be served at one of the most hospitable farmer’s home where you can have a quick shower before a 3-hour ride in van to bring you back to Saigon around 5pm.

Chau Doc is located near the Cambodian border and is known for its unique blend of Vietnamese, Cham, and Khmer cultures. Upon arrival, you can explore the highlights of the town, including the colorful floating houses, mosques, temples, and historical landmarks. Discover the bustling riverside markets, where you can find various handicrafts, textiles, and local products. You can also take a boat trip to Sam Mountain, a sacred mountain with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. 4.4/ Day 4: Chau Doc to Saigon (B, L/Cycling 45 km+)
Today, you will drive from Chau Doc to Cho Moi charming town, covering a cycling distance of approximately 45 kilometers. It will be a longer day of cycling, taking around 4 hours to ride, 1 hour to have a lunch and 3 hours to get back to Saigon. The biking route will lead you through scenic countryside roads, passing by rice fields, flower gardens, and quaint villages, incense making villages, beautiful herb lands before ending our service in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the fourth day of your cycling tour, you will bid farewell to Chau Doc and embark on a cycling adventure towards Cao Lanh. The distance from Chau Doc to Cao Lanh is approximately 110 kilometers, which will take around 6-7 hours of cycling.
As you pedal through the countryside, you will witness the changing landscapes of the Mekong Delta, with its patchwork of rice fields, lush greenery, and charming villages. Take breaks to interact with the friendly locals, who will warmly welcome you into their communities.
Upon reaching Cao Lanh, you can explore the scenic town, known for its beautiful parks and gardens. Take a stroll through the Dong Thap Muoi Eco Reserve, an area renowned for its diverse flora and fauna. Relax and unwind, enjoying the tranquility of this natural oasis.
5.5/ Day 5: Cao Lanh to Saigon (B, L/Cycling 45km+)
On the final day of your cycling tour, you will cycle from Cao Lanh to visit the historic Xeo Quyt Base and the charming town of Cai Be before transferring back to Saigon. The cycling route for today covers approximately 80 kilometers. Xeo Quyt Base is a significant historical site, where you can learn about the role of the Vietnamese guerrillas during the Vietnam War. Take a guided tour through the lush mangrove forests, exploring the underground tunnels and hidden traps used during the war. Gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s rich history and the resilience of its people. Continuing your journey to Cai Be, you will immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the town’s famous floating market. Witness the bustling trade as local farmers and vendors gather to sell their produce and goods from their boats. Take a boat trip along the intricate network of canals, known as the “Venice of the Mekong,” and explore the charming rural landscape. As the day comes to a close, you will be transferred back to Saigon, where you can reflect on the incredible experiences and memories created during your cycling tour in the Mekong Delta.
